SPANISH CHAMPIONSHIP OF RALLYES OF CLASSICS
MAY, 23th AND 24th 2009
MADRID - SEGOVIA
Last Saturday May 23th 2009, it was presented the Spanish Association of Ferrari’s Owners nationwide. To that end, the Spanish Rally of Classics was used in its stage of Segovia and Madrid.
As it took place in Andalusia, it was cloudy in the morning, because last night it was pouring with rain throughout the central area. In spite of everything, and the limited number of ferraris (20), there were not casualties.

To do it in style, we started at the Eurostars Madrid Tower Hotel and its 235m high, which welcomed participants, oddly, the first to arrive it was an Enzo.

The route was simple but the most scenic of Madrid’s Mountains. First stop, Navacerrada, where in coordination with the Rally direction people had time to take some snacks, before watching the Rally’s participants tailback. Some of them, like Manuel Gómez, one of the Association’s members, had the detail of stop and said hello to the rest of friends.

The descent from “7 revueltas” mountain pass was one of the best moments of the day.
Be able to see the Ferrari’s tailback, crossing with the participants, it is one of those moments that can’t be forgotten from our minds.
The arrival to Segovia, as expected, attracted all people on the street, and the people who wasn’t there was called by mobil phone to let them know: “hurry up, come to the aqueduct, it’s full of Ferraris!”.
And, how can you go to Segovia without have lunch at Casa Candido?. Obviously they went there. They enjoyed the most typical meals from the Castellano-Leonesa area, while the rest of mortals enjoyed watching them and without stop taking pictures of the parked Ferarris.
I don’t know if it has ever happened, but see an Enzo Ferrari parked next to the aqueduct, it is something that doesn’t ocurr so many times, and it must be immortalized.

Finally and coinciding with the end of the Rally, both were picked up at Candido’s Hotel to make the gratitude dinner and quietly talk about what happened on that day.
